Trick or Treat

The most wonderful thing about Tiggers,
is Tiggers are wonderful things.
Their tops are made out of rubber,
their bottoms are made out of springs.
They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy,
Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun!
But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers is,
I'm the only one.
Oh,I'm the only one!

How true this is....

Halloween was fun. We had a great day and Christopher really enjoyed trick or treating. After about 10 houses he decided he did not want anymore candy. I had to beg him to continue, how crazy is that. We eventually just watched Rebecca and Jenna while Christopher ate pretzels.

Disney 07

So anyone who knows me knows I am not a fan of Disney World... It is crowded, it is hot and it is just well, not my favorite....

That was of course until I saw Christopher fall in love with it right before my eyes.
Christopher has never watched any of the Disney cartoons. He knew who Mickey was but that was about it. He now knows all the characters and loves them.
He has been talking about his girlfriend Minnie and his friends Pooh, Doopy (thats Goofy), pluto and Donald Duck since we got home.

His favorite part of Magic Kingdom was the rides
His favorite part of Sea World was Shamu and Animal Kingdom was the safari
We had a great time and I am sure we will be going back.

I LOVE NY

I mean it - I love NY.... there is no place I would rather Christopher grow up. There is so much to do and so much to see.

I became a member of the Bronx Zoo the other day. It only took me 50 minutes to get there and it something that Christopher and I enjoy together.

I asked Chris for a GPS for my birthday this year. There are so many places I want to take Christopher yet I know I will get lost trying. A navigation system will help A LOT.

Diego was at the Zoo, Christopher LOVED seeing him almost as much as the animals.
It was a great day.

Here are some of my favorite pics...

Mother Nature TRIED to ruin my plans....

We had to move to plan B.... Christopher's Birthday party was a pool party, but Mother Nature had other plans. It rained ALL day... The good thing was Chris was home to help the bad thing 35 kids in the basement.

Thankfully there was plenty of room but it was stressful. I did not want anything to get ruined yet I wanted the kids to have a good time. We had a puppet show and Elmo and Cookie Monster came to the party. We decorated cookies and had cotton candy too.

It was fun.
Christopher fell asleep during the puppet show, but I think he did enjoy his party.
I cannot believe he is 2!

Where O Where Did the Month of June Go????

It cannot possibly be July 23rd. Where did the month of June go?
Christopher has a had a very busy summer so far. We went to Boston, we went to Six Flags, we went to Atlanta, we went to the circus and next week we are going to Sesame Place and Six Flags again.

In between all of that we have been to the beach, we've been swimming, we got a new swing set and Christopher went on his 1st boat ride.

I am BEAT!

Today is a rainy day which means Daddy should be home soon. We are getting estimates on our deck that should have been done in May and I am going to get some work done.

We are planning Christopher's 2nd birthday. Who says the 2nd birthday party is not as big as the 1st. HA!!!! You should see the craziness I have planned.
We are doing an Elmo & Cookie Monster theme. The day has been brought to you by the letter C, which means everything starts with the letter C. Food, drinks, activities, etc.
Lets all pray for nice weather.
Here are some of my favorite pics so far.

1 year 9 months and 20 days

1 year 9 months and 20 days ago I met the man of my dreams :)

1 year 9 months and 20 days ago I met the 1 person that can wake me at all hours of the night and still be alive :)

1 year 9 months and 20 days ago I realized that sleeping through the night was a thing of the past. (Christopher slept through the night at 8 weeks, but a mommy doesn't do that again until.... well I don't know yet)

1 year 9 months and 20 days ago I met the 1 person that can make me smile, laugh and feel giddy every time I see him

1 year 9 months and 20 days ago I found out what it was like to love someone more than you love your husband and yourself combined.

1 year 9 months and 20 days ago I gave birth to a baby that looked so much like my husband it was freaky

1 year 9 months and 20 days ago I found out what it was like to be in more pain than 1 person could imagine and be willing to do it all over again

1 year 9 months and 20 days ago I became a MOMMY!

I look at this little boy who is so adventurous and so fun to be around and wonder what I did before him. I know I thought I was busy and I know I thought I never had enough time and yet now I fit so much more into everyday.

Memorial Day weekend was no exception.

Friday we had a playdate, we went swimming, we had dinner at the guys house, I went food shopping and to kohls.

Saturday we went to the Jones Beach Airshow all day and then Chris and I went out at night

Sunday we went to Grandma's house, to a BBQ for Vanessa (my niece)and then I had company

Monday we went to a parade, had a BBQ here and then I went to a funeral at night. I don't think I sat the entire weekend. I don't think the TV went on once the whole weekend. We were never home and when we were we went outside to play. It was almost the perfect weekend. I do wish Chris was home with us to enjoy some of it. The fact that he wasn't means that business was good but we did miss him.

Christopher, like most little boys, loves plane, trains and automobiles. If it moves fast he LOVES it.

He got so excited every time a plane flew over us, that was of course until the BIG BOYS came out. The noise from those freakin planes made the beach shake. His heart was beating so fast. That's when we went up to the board walk for some ice cream.

Happy Mommy's Day!

Mother's Day was perfect. Yup, perfect. It was a beautiful day. Christopher and I (along with my sister and her family and a friend and her family oh, and of course my Mom, duh it was Mother's Day) went to Central Park. I have lived in NY my whole life and this was my first trip to the Central Park Zoo. How embarrassing is that.

Well, now that I have done it once I think I can manage it again. Christopher and I will be heading back sooner than later.

Chris got me the most beautiful card. It basically was a response to my anniversary post. It was very sweet and actually made me cry. Christopher got me a hot stone massage and an adorable card. He also said Happy Mommy's Day which of course made my day. We ended up at my in laws for a bbq. Chris met us there and like I said it was just a perfect day.

Our 5 year anniversary was very nice. We met for our massages and that was great and then when I got home I received 5 dozen roses. Do you have any idea how many roses that is? Well lets just say I had roses in 3 rooms of my house, 1 vase had 3 dozen and then 2 had a dozen each. We went to dinner that night and just had a great time.

I haven't mentioned it before but I am trying to lose weight. I am doing weight watchers, but this week (actually 11 days) I am trying a cleanse. Basically, I drink a shake, eat lunch and then have another shake on days 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 and then on days 3 and 4 and 10 and 11 you cleanse NO MEALS. I am at the end of day 3. So except for the 4 snacks you can have I have not eaten all day. Tomorrow is going to be hard. I have lost 6lbs already though (since I started the cleanse) I have lost a total of 40lbs since I started ww. I have alot more to go but hey 40lbs is a great start.

5 Years and we NEVER had a fight

Why does everyone say that?

Are there any couples in the entire world that have been married for 5 years that have not had a fight of some kind? I know some people don't really fight with their partners but come on you can not agree with someone ALL THE TIME. Thats just crazy.

Chris and I will be married 5 years on Friday.

Is marriage what I thought it would be?

NOPE!

(I am supposed to say it is better, right?) Well this is my blog and I don't have to lie and say that. Marriage is not what I thought and no it is not better than I thought. Maybe thats because right now I see Chris a total of 7 hours a week (unless it rains and then we are both so grumpy that we should probably not see each other), maybe it is because we are both so busy with our lives (work, the house and of course Christopher) that our marriage is on hold. Is this fair? No.

I am grateful for the back bone of our marriage, the foundation that it was built on and the Love I know we share. If these things were not as stable as they were before the car wash I don't think we would be married today. Chris works his butt off and he is very rarely around to spend time with us. When he is here he plays with Christopher and then eats dinner and goes to sleep. Where do I fit in?

Do I love Chris the same as I did 5 years ago?

Not the same, thats for sure. I do love him MORE. I love Chris for so many different reasons, reasons I could not have known about 5 years ago. I love him because no matter how tired he is, no matter how much he wants to come home and sit down, when he walks in that door he has more energy than you can imagine. He will NEVER tell Christopher he can't play, he can't dance with him, he can't take him outside or downstairs because he is tired. He never stays in bed when he has a day off, he is up and playing with Christopher from the moment Christopher yells DADDY from his crib. I LOVE that about him. I love that when I am having a really bad day and I am overwhelmed by everything I have to get done he says something or does something to make me feel better. I love that when he is home alone I can guarantee the house has been straightened out from top to bottom. He does not just veg out and watch TV until he hears the car pull up. I love that I know in my heart that I am the only woman that Chris would want to be with.

This post may sound negative, it is not meant to be that way. I love Chris and I love being married to him. But, before I got married I had this vision of what it would be like. I thought it would be romance all the time and I don't know just fairy tale like and that is of course not the case nor should it be. That is not real life. I would not trade any of our not so fairy tale like days for anything. What does not kill you only makes you stronger, right?

Sentimental - WHO ME????

I would never have considered myself a sentimental person. I don't (should say didn't) keep anything. I am lucky I still have my yearbook and I am sure that is because my Mom made me.

My My How things change..... I now keep everything that Christopher touches. It is pathetic.

I was cleaning out his room and trying to make room for his summer clothes, I came across all of his bibs. I did not want to throw them out or box them up never to be seen again so I decided to have them made into a quilt. Yup a freakin quilt of bibs. A friend of mine (very very talented) makes quilts. I sent her all of the bibs and a few blankets and she is turning them into every daughter in laws nightmare an entire quilt dedicated to drool and spit up. I say a daughter in laws nightmare because I am the wife of an only child. I know first hand how hard it is for a Mom to let go of her little boy (even though he was 28 when we got married) I know what it is like to marry a man who can do no wrong in his mother's eyes, a man who is on the highest pedestal there is. Until the quilt of drool I did not get it. My mother in law (who by the way is a wonderful woman, I could not ask for a better mother in law) has Chris' shoes bronzed and I thought that was over the top and now I have the quilt of drool and spit up. I am in big trouble when Christopher starts dating.

The quilt is not done yet but here is a sneak peak.

Christopher and his Godfather Rob -

Christopher's Godfather (Rob) is a Junior at Virginia Tech. He, thankfully was not a victim of Mondays shootings. When I first heard of the shootings I was not overly concerned because I knew Rob was not on campus and in my head I thought this was probably not a random act and Rob was in no danger. I know, selfish and I do feel bad for thinking that way at first. Then, as the day unfolds it was 20 students and faculty killed, then 25, then 33 including the killer. I knew Rob again was not in danger but his friends were and so was his spirit. He would now forever be afraid to be on campus, the place he loves, the place he has called home for 3 years. This breaks my heart. College should be the one time in your life when you are old enough to make dumb choices and young enough to be forgiven, the 1 time, the 1st time you live on your own and have no real concerns except passing classes and when the next party is. Care free for the most part and then this happens. Some kid who obviously needed help kills 32 people. How is this fair, what happens now to those who survived, those who for 1 reason or another were not on campus? For the next 60 years they will be haunted by this event. Some will NEVER be the same and this is all very very sad to me. Some will drop out, some will never step foot on VT campus again and will transfer to another school "A safe school". Could this happen anywhere, sure, but it happened to them so anywhere but there is a "safe school".

My heart goes out to the families, my heart hurts for the students of VT.

I would never home school Christopher but right now, at this moment, it sounds like a really good idea.

Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail

Mr. Easter Bunny made an appearance and boy o boy did he make a mess.
Christopher got a kick out of his bunny prints and was hopping next to them all morning. We did cover them up with his train table when company came but he showed everyone as soon as they walked in the door. Easter was fun or should I say Easter weekend was fun. I love kids. I have much more funny playing with the kids than "playing" with the grown ups. We had 3 Easter egg hunts here and I think (I hope) all the kids had fun.
Christopher did look for some eggs (Thanks to Dora's Egg Hunt episode) but once he found 1 egg and saw that there was something inside he just played with that something inside. Some eggs had tickets in them and some had money. The kids got to cash in their tickets for prizes alittle Chuck E Cheese meets the Easter Bunny. It was fun and shhhh don't tell the kids but it made them do math too.

BLUE BLUE BLUE

Every night I ask Christopher, What color do you want your bath tonight? and EVERY night he says blue. I had to figure out a fun way to teach him colors (plus I was running out of blue tablets) so we are changing it up. 2 weeks ago the color of the week was green. He thought this was funny but he did want it changed to blue. He has mastered his colors but he only says blue and yellow. Which I think is funny because I would think red or green would be easier to say then yellow. Way to go Christopher challenging yourself with harder words :)
I think this week we will try RED. Elmo is a favorite around here so we'll see how red goes.

Happy Birthday Chris

Happy Monday!

It was yet again another busy weekend. We celebrated a friends 40th birthday Saturday night. It was an amazing party. Everything was perfect and he was so surprised. Friday and Saturday morning were spent preparing and it was alot of work but it so paid off. Just to see Chris' face when he walked in made it all worth it. These were the centerpieces we made for the party. I hate leaving Christopher on weekends to do something for myself. I feel so guilty because I have to work and I have to leave him on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He had a nice night and was actually sleeping before the party even started so that was not to bad. My mother in law took him to a basketball tournament and then to Mc Donalds for dinner. By the time he got home I was already gone so there was no fussing or crying for me which makes it so much easier.

Yesterday we all just vegged out and relaxed. I did some Easter shopping and came home and we all took naps. I need to go Christopher's picture taken with the Easter Bunny before Friday.

AHHHH I keep forgetting.

Monday already :(

We had a fun filled weekend.
Friday night we had a sleep over at the guys (Rebecca and Jenna) house, well they slept, Christopher and I tried to sleep. We slept in Rebecca's room and he started out in the pack N play but ended up in bed with me. A twin size bed NOT up against a wall. So I held him all night hoping he would not roll off the bed.
We went for a walk first thing and then off to a birthday party. It was at a petting zoo and Christopher got to ride on a pony. He loves horses (AKA NEIGH in Christopher's world) He calls all animals by the sound they make.
Sunday we had another birthday party at a firehouse. Now what little boy does not love a fire truck! Christopher had so much fun playing on the truck and seeing the lights. He would have spent the entire party on the truck if he could have. He made some friends and really played the whole time. I spent most of the party on the floor playing in this tent / tunnel toy.
Note to self never wear a skirt to a party.

We also decorated for Easter this weekend. I must admit I do love the way the house came out. I never really decorated for Easter before but Christopher likes it.

2 more weeks and the East Bunny comes!
We have to get Christopher's picture taken with the Easter Bunny this weekend.

He cracks me up

Christopher may not have a ton of words but he can let you know what he likes and what he doesn't very very well.

I was trying to get Christopher to say Banana this morning, he says nana. So I kept saying BA nana BA BA BA. He says BA BA BA Uncle and burst out laughing. He then continues to say BA BA BA before every word he knows. I was cracking up, so needless to say we left that subject for another day.

Christopher's Favs:
The Upside Down Show, Bob the Builder, pancakes, Berries, Grandpa (AKA DUMPA), Uncle Augie, the guys (Rebecca and Jenna) Sesame Street characters and DADDY.
It seems like the guys in his life rule. I think it is so funny that Uncle and Dumpa are favorites. Don't get me wrong they are very nice to Christopher and play with him but out of everyone in his life they probably fuss the least over him. I think Christopher will have a bit of his Dads personality as far as NOT wanting attention, if his favorites are any indication :)

Could I be any worse at this?
Christopher is still feeling a bit under the weather so I am going to take advantage of the down time to update this blog. He is a very active, very happy little boy so it is very rare that I have time to update.
Christopher is really starting to talk now. He is repeating everything we say.

The Upside Down show is Christopher's favorite show now (he is watching it now). I am not sure how many of you have actually sat down to watch this show but it is RIDICULOUS. These 2 guys are out of their minds yet so entertaining.
March is a crazy month for us.... Happy Birthday Uncle, Jenna, Sophie, Jaclyn, Grandpa, Vanessa, Kali and Madison.
We have celebrations all month long.
Christopher loves to sing Happy Birthday although all he says is HAPPY.
OK, my time is up.
I PROMISE to update more often.
